COVID-19 Update – Please Bag All Trash

Currently trash & recycle services will continue as normal.

Please refrain from generating additional heavy trash, such as cleaning garages, closets, extra yard work, etc. Due to extra volumes, trash is extremely heavy and our routes are running later than normal. Please be patient as we are doing our best to get all trash collected.

In response to the continuing effects of the Coronavirus and in observance of our employee’s safety, we are asking that all waste be placed in plastic bags and tied off to avoid any need for direct contact with the garbage.

Please continue to place your recycling loose in your container. Please break down all boxes and reduce in size as much as possible. If you exceed the capacity of the container, please bag and place with trash. However, if anyone in your household is exhibiting symptoms of any transmissible illness, please place recyclables in plastic bags and dispose of with your regular garbage.

Please do not call the office. Go to website www.best-trash.com for updates or contact customerservice@besttrashtexas.com.

To all WCA Houston Area Customers,

The Houston area is under a Winter Weather Advisory. At this time, WCA has decided it is unsafe to run our routes Wednesday, January 17, 2018. All offices will be closed and no trucks will be running.

If your service is missed due to the weather, service will resume on the next scheduled service day.

We will continue to follow up with updates. Updates will be sent out by email, Facebook, and our company website.

Please feel free to pass this along as needed and please be safe.

Limited Household Waste Pickup on Saturday, September 9th

To the Residents of Chimney Hill Municipal Utility District:

Waste Corporation of Texas, L.P. (WCA) has announced a limited household waste pickup to take place on Saturday, September 9.

WCA states that residents MUST follow the following steps to have trash picked up:

1.  Only household waste will be picked up.

  • Household waste MUST be in containers, bags, or WCA provided carts.
  • DO NOT PUT OUT ANY LAWN WASTE or MIX IN LAWN WASTE.

2.  There is a limit of 4 bags only.  ONLY 4 BAGS will be picked up per house.

  • Or, (1) Customer owned container
  • Or, (1) WCA provided cart

3.  Trash must be placed at the street BUT not on the street.

  • KEEP ALL ROADWAYS ACCESSIBLE FOR THE TRUCKS AND EMERGENCY VEHICLES.

4.  Do not put out trash until Saturday morning.  Trash must be out by 7:00 am.

5.  If you have yard waste currently bagged at the street, you don’t need to move; however, it will not be picked up.  Please make sure it is NOT placed in the street.

This is a limited service only. WCA’s goal is to pick up the waste safely and as much as possible. WCA will resume normal operations as soon as possible.

NOTE:  WCA expects to resume recycling service on Wednesday, September 13.

WCA’s commercial collection service is operating on a limited basis.  WCA is only collecting trash from hospitals, apartments, restaurants, and convenience stores. WCA expects to begin normal operations very soon.

Solid Waste Collection

To the Residents of Chimney Hill MUD:

Waste Corporation of Texas, L.P. (WCA), the Solid Waste Collector engaged by Chimney Hill MUD, made the decision to suspend most operations for Thursday, August 31, 2017, for the greater Houston area. This decision was based on continuing high water and safety concerns. WCA is attempting to get some of its trucks out and picking up where it can. As the streets clear through the Greater Houston area, WCA anticipates site operations resuming on Friday, September 1, 2017, and being able to service its regularly scheduled Friday routes.

It will be WCA’s goal to collect putrescible waste first (this is the material that begins to break down and if left uncollected would begin to decompose in the Houston heat). WCA requests that residents separate their putrescible waste from their bulk waste to ensure proper and timely collection. (A four bag maximum, per home, will be picked up each service day).

WCA will not be collecting carpet or construction materials as regular collection related to this storm event. At this time, WCA has made the decision to suspend recycle services to all of its clients, effective immediately, for a period of two weeks.

An update from WCA is expected later today (August 31, 2017).
